May 2018

April was a fantastic and busy month for The Avsource Group.  We enjoyed getting to meet some our customers and friends at the MRO of The America’s in Orlando.  It is always great to connect face to face, see all the new happenings and aerospace products.  While in Florida, several of us enjoyed a couple of days at the Sun N Fun Fly-In  in Lakeland.  See Pictures below.  We’re also busy rounding together our group for our 2018 annual board meeting coming in June.

Here’s what else has been happening.

Our Chief DAR, Gary Loyd, has been jaunting all over Asia certifying and completing aging aircraft inspections and certification on 767’s and a 747.

He’s also had several projects here in the homeland.  Here’s some trivia for you!  Did you know that on top of being an aircraft certification guru that Gary is also a superb guitarist and mandolinist? Well he is, and he performs nearly every week with his family trio.  Check out their picture below.

And in his spare time, he is working on a Van’s RV-9, which our Chairman Emeritus, Barry Hicks, started years ago.  The first sub-assembly, the horizontal stabilizer, is now complete.  Plenty remains to be done.

Our team continues to assist our clients with aircraft transitions (deliveries/redeliveries), records control and organization, engineering and all related aspects of aircraft technical services. We’re currently working on several Airbus, Boeing and Embraer models.
