As we write this newsletter today, it is snowing in Colorado. The local weather forecasters are saying this could be our biggest storm of the winter season. It was just last weekend when New York and Washington DC were reporting blizzard conditions through all of the major television networks and cable channels. Ironically, you probably won’t hear anything about our big snowstorm in Colorado except through this newsletter.

Avsource was elected and is current working on phase out of A330 (9 aircraft – sales and re-deliveries) for a major South American carrier using a group of 10 associates involved on the project. 5th ATR42/72 was redelivered successfully and ASG team is working on 3 more for a growing Brazilian airline. Avsource formed a new partnership with FELCA, so we are now offering a complete interior inspection report for pre-redelivery that includes full inventory of flammability control affected items with relevant cosmetic items normally required upon redelivery.

We completed the US export certificate of airworthiness of one 757-200PCF to EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). This is not an easy task, despite all the so-called “harmony” between the US and EASA in the bilateral agreement. EASA requires documentation for all repairs, major and minor. The FAA does not require transfer of records for minor repairs and that’s the rub. The exporter went to great expense in both time and money to provide satisfactory documentation for the minor repairs.

- 54 cents per mile for business miles driven, down from 57.5 cents for 2015.
- The business mileage rate decreased 3.5 cents per mile from the 2015 rates.
- The standard mileage rate for business is based on an annual study of the fixed and variable costs of operating an automobile.
